Bukkake, is considered by some to be on the fringe of sexuality and is considered by them to be taboo. Origin of Bukkake

Bukkake in Japanese is actually a common word meaning "to splash" or "heavily squirt," only later did it become a sexual word. It is rumored that Bukkake originated in ancient Japan to punish unfaithful women. The production company JM Productions created this story and included it on the box of their video. It has no credibility.

It is more likely that this is apocryphal and that it is instead a modern "invention" from Japan. Bukkake videos first appeared in the 1980's as a way for Japanese pornographers to be more extreme and spice up what some considered "boring" sex movies. In Japan it is illegal to show genitals on video and legal Japanese pornography uses a pixelation method to obscure clear shots of genitalia.

What Japanese producers may have been surprised by is the popularity outside of their own country. Due to its worldwide popularity European and American porn producers quickly followed suit.
